19th International Conference on the Cell and Molecular Biology of Chlamydomonas
29 Aug-3 Sep 2021 83140 Six-Fours-les-Plages (France)

Poster sessions and abstract deposition

Posters will be up throughout the meeting. The size should be A0 (841 × 1189 mm). Each poster will receive a number, and a letter A, B, C or D. To allow the presenters to visit the other posters, we will not ask them to necessarily remain by their poster throughout the sessions. "A" presenters will be asked to stand next to their poster at 2 PM and 3 PM, "B" at at 2:15 PM and 3:15 PM, "C" at at 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM, "D" at at 2:45 PM and 3:45 PM. This way, everyone can plan ahead and be sure they will meet all the presenters they MUST see, while allowing them to view other posters at their leisure. This will be the first time this scheme is implemented at a Chlamy meeting, let's hope everyone plays the game...

Poster prizes. Three posters will be selected and receive a (non-monetary) poster award. Their presenters will be asked to give a 10 min talk at the end of the meeting, so if you have a good poster, come prepared with a few slides....

Selected talks. As usual at Chlamy meetings, the program will feature a majority of talks selected from the abstracts, so we encourage you to deposit your abstract as soon as possible. When you deposit your contribution, you can choose "oral", if you want it to be considered for selection as a platform talk (15 min). This selection will be done before the deadline for early bird registration (June 25).

Abstract deposition will be possible until July 30, when the abstract book is printed. After login with your sciencesconf credentials, go to the page My_Space/Submissions. If you want your presentation to be considered as a plenary talk, make sure you deposit before June 11. Remember to (pre-)register, otherwise your abstract will not be considered. After deposition, the abstract can be changed by going to >MySpace >MySubmissions. Please do not deposit a second replacement abstract, use the pen pictogram to change the title, authors, text affiliations etc. But if you wish to present for a poster AND a talk (yes, it's possible!), you should deposit two abstracts

Anyway, don't forget that everyone receives attention at a Chlamy meeting, whether giving a talk or not, so do come even if your abstract is not selected for a plenary talk. The congress offers plenty of opportunities to share your research with your colleagues, including but not limited to the poster sessions.

Please prepare your abstract to be <2000 characters, excluding spaces and authors names and affiliations which will be entered separately. You can include a reference or two, but please give us an idea of what you have found, not just of what you are working on. At any time during the initial phase of reviewing (until June 31) and before booklet printing (August 15), you can modify your abstract by clicking in the left menu on Submissions / My submissions and then the edit pen. If your abstract is selected for a talk, but you also wish to present a poster on the same or a slightly different subject, please let us know so we can plan a poster board for you.

When it is time for you to prepare your poster, don't forget that it will appear among many others, so plan it to be easily captured by a passing-by audience. Take a look at this amusing (though a bit long) video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RwJbhkCA58
