Covid-related measures

COVID: We are concerned with your health. With the delta variant of SARS-CoV2 now prevalent in France as in many countries, the threat takes new forms, and calls for new measures. Here's what we will do to make Chlamy 2020+1 not only enriching and pleasant, but also safe.

- HEALTH PASS. Access to the meeting is restricted to those carrying a valid health pass. We will validate your pass when you register. During the meeting, you will not be asked to show it again to access congress functions. Carry it with you, still, as you will need it to enter the bar of the hotel and the shops on the island. Note that all personnel will carry a valid health pass.

For non-EU nationals, it is possible to obtain the French QR code before entering the country. See our Twitter page (https://twitter.com/ChlamyMeeting/status/1425112253301415940) and for the US: https://fr.usembassy.gov/how-to-get-a-french-health-pass/). In addition, French pharmacists can translate your certificate into a French health pass, don't hesitate to bug them if they pretend they don't know. Contact us in case of problem.

- TESTING will be encouraged. By law, we cannot force you to test, but you certainly realize that even a full vaccination scheme is not a complete protection. You don't want to pass it on, unknowingly, to someone more susceptible than you. So we suggest you take a test before coming, even if vaccinated. We will offer one self testing upon arrival, and one on Wednesday. In addition, the more reliable antigenic and PCR tests that many of you will require will also be proposed: a nurse will come to the island Wednesday afternoon to carry them out, so your results can be available before your departure. The costs of these tests will not be carried by the congress. Please register on the Whova website (>Community >Meetups)

- MASKS will be worne over nose and mouth during the meeting, both indoors and outdoors. This is part of the legal requirements. Exceptions are obvious: speakers during their talk, meal times, drinks... We will provide surgical masks to all attendees, but you are welcome to bring your own, any type is accepted as long as it is properly worn. Hydro-alcoholic solution will be available at many sites throughout the venue, in particular at the entrance of the session rooms. You are encouraged to bring your own bottle, especially if you are sharing room. The regulations require no special form of social distancing, but we trust you will follow common sense in this respect. Dining will be outdoors, as well as coffee breaks. The meeting rooms are equipped with an air purification system, and we will aerate as often as possible.

The venue has a specific policy, they call PMS2 which we encourage you to examine. An English version will be up soon

In conclusion: with your help, we can make it. Virologists have never found a virus that could infect Chlamydomonas. Let's keep it that way !
