19th International Conference on the Cell and Molecular Biology of Chlamydomonas
29 Aug-31 Dec 2021 83140 Six-Fours-les-Plages (France)

Welcome to Chlamy-2020-in-2021

Two poster prizes have been awarded at Chlamy 2020+1.

The prize awarded on-site goes to OUSMANE DAO for his poster "Alternative electron pathways of photosynthesis affect carbon storage during N deprivation in Chlamydomonas".

The prize for the best Whova poster is awarded to FABRIZIO IACONO for his poster "Link between carbon-concentrating mechanism and regulation of the trans-thylakoidal proton-motive force highlighted in the Chlamydomonas reinhardtii nigericin-insensitive field-isolated strain CC-2936".

The two posters can be viewed on Whova (https://whova.com/portal/webapp/chlam_202109/Artifact/23370 and https://whova.com/portal/webapp/chlam_202109/Artifact/23381). Excellent science, a clear description of the results and of their implications, enthusiasm and joy in communicating with their peers: both recipients deserved the honour, which also falls back on their collaborators. Many other excellent posters were shown at the Chlamy meeting, both on-site and online: thanks to you all for sharing your work with us.

THE CHLAMYDOMONAS MEETING IS OVER ! (but continues online)

Thanks to you all, on-site and online attendees, it was a big success. See you at the next meeting, which will be held in America ! In four years, we are returning to Europe. And in six years, probably in Asia.

In the meantime, you can watch the recorded presentations, and access a trove of online material through the Whova website (https://whova.com/portal/webapp/chlam_202109). An app is also available for your smartphone:

Get our official event app
For Blackberry or Windows Phone, Click here
For feature details, visit Whova

The Whova website will remain accessible for the next 6 months, so you can watch the recorded videos of the sessions and view the many online posters in the "Posters" section of the app. It is still even possible for you to upload material there: a pdf, a recorded video, a scientific profile and other materials. You can also use the many cool ways that the Whova app has for promoting interactions between attendees, see https://whova.com/portal/webapp/chlam_202109/WhovaGuides. .

If you want to gain access to the Whova website now that the meeting is over, it is still possible. The cost remains 150 €, payable exclusively by credit card (VISA or MASTERCAR, not American Express). If you wish to join now, register and pay on this website using the last category "Online only". Then send a mail to Matthieu Mustas <mustas@ibpc.fr> who will give you access to Whova. NB: payment appears impossible if you use Safari. We use a 3D-Secure website (Paybox, by Verifone), so you can safely override warnings. If payment fails, it could be because your bank requires additional certification of the transaction: contact them to authorize it.

If want to show an online poster on Whova, please write "Poster space requested" in the subject of the mail you send to mustas@ibpc.fr, Put your title and authors list in the body. Matthieu will confirm, then you can login at https://whova.com/portal/webapp/chlam_202109/.

And remember, there is a contest running for the "Chlamy 2020+1 Whova poster award". The winner will be the poster with most Likes (to vote, use the little heart within the Whova section of the page, not the one that appears within the video, which would send you to the pwd protected Vimeo website).

Our guess is that the winning poster will show robust and interesting science, and be accompanied by a video combining enthusiasm and rigor. It can be an online-only poster, or one already presented on-site. Because the program was very dense and not all participants have had the time to prepare their video and view the other posters, we have extended the voting to September 18, 2021. So there's some time left to record your video, and to view the other posters. Remember, Whova will serve as a showcase to your work over the next 6 months. So even if you don't care about winning the award, do your best when preparing your poster!

And start checking out the posters of the other participants, the more votes the higher our chance to find the really best one!

Every two years, the international research commnunity working on the unicellular green alga

Chlamydomonas reinhardtii (pronounce "reinhardi") and on its close multicellular relatives,

meets to share their most exciting results. Do not miss this opportunity to expose your research

and develop collaborations with the best specialists in your field !

Chlamy 2020+1 will take place on the beautiful Île des Embiez on the French Riviera.

Please take a look at our preliminary program. The final program will be built after selection from the abstracts.

You can deposit your abstract now, and register later. The selection of talks will be made before the deadline for early bird registration
